How to reduce the impact of fungal disease in coffee

Zinc, copper and manganese influence the impact of fungal disease.

Zinc

Foliar zinc also helps boost plant health, minimizing the effects of fungal infections on the bean.

Copper

The widespread use of copper based fungicides means that copper deficiencies are rarely seen. Trials show that copper fungicides can supply amounts of copper at levels well above the 20-25ppm copper considered optimum for coffee production. One of the key benefits of a regular spray application program is the reduced incidence of fungal diseases in processed coffee grains.

Manganese

As with other nutrients, maintaining a good supply of manganese maintains healthy growth, minimizing the effects of fungal attack and disease on the processed bean.
