New growth is adversely affected with internodes shortened and leaf size reduced. The new leaves are compressed into a rosette shape. Older leaves show initially yellowish-green interveinal chlorosis which later turns yellow or yellowish-white. The veins initially retain their green borders. The chlorosis is not as uniform as with manganese deficiency. Few flowers form and they are often sterile. Crop maturity is delayed.
