Based on trial results, Yara has developed fertilizer recommendations for spring sown barley, including straight nitrogen fertilizers, compound NPK fertilizers and foliar micronutrients.

Yara’s fertilizer recommendations are the result of knowledge and experience accumulated over more than a hundred years in the field of plant nutrition. They are regularly updated according to Yara’s laboratory research and field trials, taking into account local regulations, climate and soil conditions.

Yara’s fertilizer recommendation are based on Yara’s portfolio of high efficiency nutrients.

YaraMila® starter fertilization

Spring application of NPK fertilizer directly into the seedbed is the most efficient fertilization scheme for spring barley. Com - pared to CAN application only, yields obtained with NPK fertilizers are consistently higher across varieties (figure 5).
